To love snow or not!?!

10 months  that Kent has been gone!

So if I took a poll.... How many people would pray for snow all year long?  I think I would have been married to the only one! Kent loved snow!  Loved it so much that even one year Kent's mom saved the last snow from the season ( and gave it to him on his Birthday from her freezer on April 25th!)

As we approach the winter season I love all that comes with the season except I just am the opposite, I pray snow away! So much that I Sing a little ditty to my preschoolers when being silly.  Snow, Snow Go away! Don't ever come back another day!

I have been getting our preschoolers ready to celebrate this Christmas with many crafts, rehersals, recordings, and parent gifts.  I love watching them do the many activities before Christmas! I also love watching them as their young minds see the first snow of winter! They too love the snow!

This Christmas will be different for us here this year, but also for Kent!  I wonder what he is experiencing this year! Christmas in Heaven!  What a glorious sight! I can't even imagine! Will there be snow?  How does Christmas happen in Heaven?

The weekend before Thanksgiving, we do one of our favorite traditions of the Christmas season.  We all load up into our vehicle and head to a local tree farm and find the most beautiful tree of the year.  We all unload out of the vehicle, find our map of the tree farm and grab our sled and saw and start looking.  My mom usally finds her tree first.  It always takes me a bit to find the perfect one. I found it! It was really difficult this year not having Kent's careful eye.  This year, Lydia as she always joins, and Eli joined in this year.  Together the two of them help my mom and I cut them down, bale, and load in our car.  We also ended our tree finding with looking in the barn, Lydia holding a Chick and her favorite... Popcorn balls.  She's always happy when she gets my mom and mine as they are not our favorite!

As we enter the Christmas season, there is Always, Always, Always  something to be Thankful for.  We are  SO thankful to all of you for your endless love and care.  We are thankful for those who show up to help change a light bulb, drive me to and fro in the snow ( That I am trying thankful for) Help with daily tasks Kent did and just find ways to help Lydia anyway possible.

Many have asked honestly how we are doing?  Lydia and I are trying hard to live everyday with a grateful heart.  Internally we sturggle.  Tears flow freely, and we often miss so many things especially around the holidays that we did together.  The amount of laughs and tears from Christmas trees falling off the top of the traverse bringing the tree home, I am going to miss Lydia and Kent hauling up the skiis and then hearing music full blast as they pull away and the smell of Chick fil a as they return back home, I am going to miss the smiles around the Christmas circle opening gifts as Kent always had a comment everyone laughed at! Kent made every season fun and made snow doable for me.   I smile everytime I look outside and see it not because I'm thrilled, but because it made Kent smile!

So whether or not you are on Kent's side or mine of the snow debate....

Lydia and I pray that you have a wonderful Christmas season!
